Artist Invite

This unique, exciting, educational and timely event will promote artists and crafts persons while focusing on Recycled Art and the Green Movement in general.

Dear Artist:

Have you heard? The Village of Patchogue is experiencing a wonderful cultural and artistic renaissance. Nestled on the shore of the Great South Bay midway between Montauk and Manhattan the Village enjoys a restored 100-year-old performing arts theater, art displays, live music, vibrant and varied restaurants, microbreweries, and the hippest of Long Island magazines. The excitement continues to grow with the coming Art Space Live/Work Loft project and the fast growing Patchogue Arts Council.

The newly formed Patchogue Arts Council, Inc. is pleased to announce that we will host the first annual “GREEN ART FESTIVAL” at the beautiful SHORE FRONT PARK in Patchogue. The “GREEN ART FESTIVAL” committee is inviting artists to apply for a space to show and/or sell their work. The day will center on GREEN ART while including; displays and interactive projects by corporate and state officials to promote education and understanding of recycling; energy and transportation alternatives; ecological impacts and solutions; a focus on organic foods and providers of healthier alternatives; musical entertainment and presentations in the literary and dance arts, as well as art projects for young and old alike. We are expecting an exhibition audience somewhere between 5 and 10,000 people at this event.

Please review the attached Artist Application for complete details and guidelines.

All submissions are due by April 15, 2009 but spaces are limited so please apply ASAP. We are expecting at least 1,000 Applicants and will be choosing 150 to 200 exhibitors.
